PROJECT COVERAGE

The Programme aims at increase the private investment in the agribusiness sector and make the most out of the public investment in the sector through the creation of the EU-Ghana Agribusiness Platform and, thereby, contribute to sustainable economic development and poverty reduction in Ghana.

Two-fold purposes: The programme a) identify the options and prepare related workplans for the establishment and operationalization of the EU-Ghana Agribusiness Platform; and b) increase the viability and shared understanding of the Platform among the Key stakeholders and Core Group.

Six-fold programme outputs: The Support Programme contributed to:

  • Literature and best practices review;
  • Draft model for EU-Ghana Agribusiness Platform and its financial sustainability;
  • A set of relevant, simple and straightforward indicators to monitor the platform's activities and objectives;
  • Formulation of indicators for an operationalized M&E system
  • Validation of the draft Model of the EU-Ghana Agribusiness Platform by the identified Core Group of stakeholders;
  • Validation Workshop with EBA and EU

RESULTS ACHIEVED

Purpose 1: To identify the options and prepare related workplans for the establishment and operationalization of the EU-Ghana Agribusiness Platform
  • Extensive literature and best practices reviewed to establish a functioning EU-Ghana Agribusiness Platform, taking into account its financial sustainability;
  • A draft model for EU-Ghana Agribusiness Platform prepared;
  • A set of relevant, simple and straightforward indicators to monitor the platform’s activities and objectives including a M&E system for the indicators formulated.
 
Purpose 2:  To increase the viability and shared understanding of the Platform among the key stakeholders and Core Group
  • A draft Model of the EU-Ghana Platform is shared and validated by the identified Core Group of stakeholders;
  • Results of this support project are presented and validated at a workshop with EBA and EU.
