P036 : Appui à l’amélioration des conditions d’accès au marché et de facilitation du commerce en Côte d’Ivoire

The objective of the support programme was to contribute to sustainable economic development and poverty reduction in Ivory Coast, through the implementation of the National Export Strategy (SNE), and the improvement of the Trade Obstacles Alert Mechanism (MAOC).

Two-fold purposes:

  • Operationalization of the National Export Strategy;
  • Implementation and optimization of the measures provided for in the Trade Obstacles Alert Mechanism.

?Two-fold outputs:

  • The NES implemented through training of stakeholders, carrying out of studies on prospective new markets and the exploration of financial mechanisms to boost exports and the Trade Obstacles Alert Mechanism (MAOC) operationalized and implemented.
  • Members of the National Committee to Monitor Trade Obstacles (CNSOC) trained; the MAOC Platform is widely accessible by the key stakeholders.

  • Private sector competitiveness;
  • Trade Facilitation;
  • EPA implementation;
  • Elimination of NTBs;
  • Training and capacity building.

Purpose 1: Operationalization of the National Export Strategy

  • The National Export Strategy prepared and validated by the key stakeholders;
  • Studies on five (05) target markets (Brazil, India, South Africa, Nigeria and China) undertaken;
  • Feasibility study of an Export Credit Insurance mechanism undertaken;
  • Training workshop for members of the National Trade Information Network (RNIC) successfully held;
  • RNIC promotion workshop with Trade Support Institutions (TSIs) successfully held.

Purpose 2: Implementation and optimization of the measures provided for in the Trade Obstacles Alert Mechanism 

  • Two training workshops for members of the National Committee to Monitor Trade Obstacles (CNSOC) successfully held;
  • Transfer of know-how on non-tariff barriers and trade obstacles undertaken;
  • Two training workshops promoting the MAOC to beneficiaries successfully held;
  • Restitution workshop on the results of the studies successfully held;
  • Training materials produces and shared;
  • Visibility materials produced.
